Custom Sensors, Inc. Barcode Slot Scanner MT412

Description
FEATURES: · Reads All Common Barcodes · Keyboard Wedge, RS-232 or USB · Environmentally Sealed · PC and Macintosh Models · Visible or Infrared Models · Easy Configuration with PC · Installation and Configuration Manual DESCRIPTION: The MT-412 is used to read barcodes on badges, ID cards, or similar documents. The unit reads and decodes all barcode types in use today. It is available with either visible red or infrared light source. The visible models will read codes printed in either black or color inks (except red), or non-carbon based inks. The infrared model will read codes printed in black carbon based inks, and also codes with infrared transparent security overlays. Two types of communications protocols are provided. The keyboard wedge unit connects between the keyboard and computer. Barcode information is sent to the computer as though it were typed on the keyboard. The RS-232 model sends information in serial ASCII format to any device with an RS-232 Port. Keyboard Wedge models get their power from the PC; RS-232 Models require an external power supply. In addition, a TTL model is available for use with an external decoder. TYPICAL APPLICATIONS: The MT-412 Barcode Slot Readers are designed for applications such as Time and Attendance, Access Control, and Factory Floor Data Collection Systems. Barcode slot readers can be used in place of magnetic card readers in many applications. The cost of printing barcoded ID cards is less than the cost of preparing cards with magnetic stripes. This is a significant in applications where a small quantity of cards are involved, or a "throw-away" card is used.
