3M VHB Tape 5952 is a double-coated acrylic foam tape designed for bonding a variety of substrates, including lower surface energy materials such as powder-coated paints and plastics. The tape has a thickness of 1.1 mm and a foam density of 590 kg/m¬=. It features a black color and comes with a red polyethylene film release liner. The tape exhibits a peel adhesion strength of 35 N/10mm to stainless steel after a 72-hour dwell time at room temperature. It has a static shear strength of 1500 g at 22¬8C and maintains performance at elevated temperatures, with ratings of 500 g at 68¬8C and 93¬8C, and 250 g at 121¬8C. The tape is resistant to solvents and has excellent UV light resistance. For optimal adhesion, surfaces must be clean, dry, and well unified, with recommendations for using isopropyl alcohol or heptane for cleaning. The shelf life is 24 months when stored properly. This tape is suitable for various interior and exterior industrial applications and can replace traditional fasteners in many situations.
