Scotch¬Æ Filament Tape 893 is a general-purpose packaging tape designed for high tensile strength and low stretch, reinforced with continuous glass-yarn filaments. The tape features a clear 3M,Ñ¢ Scotchpro,Ñ¢ backing that offers excellent abrasion and moisture resistance. It utilizes an aggressive packaging-grade adhesive that provides a balance of high initial adhesion and long-term holding power, particularly effective on fiberboard surfaces. With a total thickness of 6.0 mil (0.15 mm), the tape exhibits an adhesion to steel of 55 oz./in. width (60 N/100 mm width) and a tensile strength of 300 lbs./in. width (5250 N/100 mm width). The tape allows for printing and visibility of illustrations through its clear backing, making it suitable for advertising and labeling applications. It performs well in various temperature ranges and is recommended for use in bundling, reinforcing, or coil tabbing applications, especially in environments with high temperatures or oily surfaces. Storage conditions should be maintained between 40-80¬8F (4-26¬8C) with 40-50% relative humidity to ensure optimal performance.
