Crosslink Detoxification Coating

Description
In a world threatened by harmful chemical and biological agents (CBAs), detoxification solutions become very important to the well-being of individuals and military personnel on the battlefield. Traditional approaches to decontamination are equipment washdown with neutralizing solutions and water, incineration and reactive sorbent powder wipes. These are tedious and create problems with chemical waste disposal. In addition, these processes only are effective post-attack and are not preventative in nature.Crosslink's self-detoxification coating, based on electroactive polymer technology, is a reactive coating that rapidly neutralizes chemical or biological agents. This reactive coating has two components: * The first component consists of flexible, conductive polymer electrodes and a supporting electrolyte gel. * The second component consists of a catalytic polymer coating that is applied over the first component. This coating is used to activate hydrogen peroxide to an aggressively oxidative and hydrolytic state, which results in the destruction of CBAs that come in contact with it.
