CITGO Rust-O-Lene ST is a rust-preventive oil designed for short-term protection of metal parts during manufacturing and indoor storage. It contains effective rust inhibitors, a high-flash solvent, and high-quality base oils. The product forms a protective film after solvent evaporation, making it suitable for protecting semi-finished or finished metal parts and assemblies during transit. The oil can be applied through dipping, spraying, or brushing methods and exhibits excellent water displacement and metal wetting properties. It is compatible with various materials, including steels, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. The typical properties include a flash point of 160¬8F (72¬8C) and a viscosity of 3 cSt at 40¬8C. Notably, it provides up to 1300 hours of rust protection in humidity cabinet tests. However, it cannot be sold in the California South Coast Air Quality Management District due to VOC levels from the solvent.
