The Poly dosing system is widely used throughout the quarrying industry for waste-water control. The basic operation of the Polyplant is to take water from a storage tank, mix in a Polyelectrolyte material, transfer the mixed Poly to a storage tank and then dose it out to the external thickening process. The operation sequence of the Polyplant is fully automatic and is controlled by level probes, located inside each tank. The Polyplant settings for the Screw Feeder, Dosing pump and mixing times are fully controllable by a PLC control panel located in the Main control panel. The system is also fitted with an alarm system in order to ensure early troubleshooting and can be fitted with an option control for turbidity (cloudiness) measurement of effluent. The chemical used is called polyelectrolyte, this is completely safe and is the industry standard for industrial water treatment. The same chemical is used in the treatment of municipal water for drinking in almost all water works throughout Ireland and the world. The raw Polyelectrolyte would be in powder form, for correct management and storage this should be stored in the supplied cabin.
