The SG000 detects lightning strikes up to 20 miles away—the user can specify shorter range settings. The sensor uses optical-coincidence technology to reliably eliminate false alarms. The SG000 is used in lightning-warning systems in conjunction with the CS110 electric field meter. The CS110 measures the lightning potential, and the data from the two sensors is used to control warning systems and to provide information for evacuation and shutdown decisions.
