The Avago AFBR-8420EVK evaluation kit is designed to provide designers with a convenient means of evaluating Avago 100G CFP2 SR10 module. The evaluation kit supports the Avago AFBR-8420Z, a 10-channel pluggable, multi-mode parallel optic transceiver module for high-density 100G Ethernet and Optical Transport Network (OTN) applications.
The evaluation kit Includes the Avago AFBR-8420EVB evaluation board and an Avago designed and produced MDIO Master controller for MDIO communication to the CFP2 module. Note that the evaluation board can be ordered separately. The evaluation board includes the following:
20 side-mounted SMA connectors designed to connect to all 10 differential Tx high speed lanes
20 surface mounted SMA connectors to connect to all 10 differential RX high-speed lanes
MDIO interface for module control and digital diagnostics monitoring
Probe point access to low speed signals
CFP2 compliant cage, connector and heat sink
