The SC16C554BIB80 is a quad-channel Universal Asynchronous Receiver and Transmitter (UART) designed for serial data communication, capable of converting parallel data to serial and vice versa. It supports data rates up to 5 Mbit/s at 5V and 3.3V, and 3 Mbit/s at 2.5V. The device features 16-byte transmit and receive FIFOs, programmable auto-RTS and auto-CTS for hardware flow control, and four selectable receive FIFO interrupt trigger levels.
