The DS8000 is a networked sound masking processor and loudspeaker controller designed by Biamp Systems, Ltd. It features eight amplifier channels with full digital signal processing (DSP), allowing for detailed configuration of speaker outputs. The unit supports individual network control for up to eight Dynasound DS1356 sound masking speakers and operates using CobraNet digital audio network technology on standard 10-100 base-T networks. The DS8000 provides two to four independent sound masking generators, depending on firmware, with capabilities for 1/3 octave band equalization and adjustable high pass and low pass filters. It includes six additional audio channels for paging and background music functions. The device is ETL listed for compliance with UL 62368-1 and CSA C22.2 62368-1 standards and is covered by a five-year warranty. It is suitable for installation above suspended ceilings or in open structure environments and requires Power over Ethernet (PoE) from a Biamp-approved powering device.
The DS8000 network sound masking system sets the industry standard for individual speaker control, and the DS8000 makes it all possible. The DS8000 has eight speaker outputs designed to power the DynasoundPro network capable speakers, such as the DS1357 or DS1398. Speaker connections are made using standard two conductor audio cable and all other connections use standard network CAT-5 cable.
