The GBKI884 is an outdoor dry core optical fiber Multi Loose Tube cable designed for robust applications. It features a construction that includes glass yarns as strength members, a Corrugated Steel Tape armor for full rodent protection, and a polyethylene outer jacket with a polyamide layer for termite protection. The cable consists of 8 tubes, each with a diameter of 1.9mm, containing a total of 84 fibers (7 tubes with 12 fibers each) compliant with SM OS2 G.652.D and G.657.A1 standards. This cable is suitable for outdoor use in structured wiring systems, including industrial backbones, campus backbones, and horizontal cabling. It is designed for easy installation in various environments such as ducts, tunnels, and direct burial applications. The cable is water-tight and features waterblocking glass yarns and tape, ensuring reliable performance in wet conditions. The GBKI884 has a maximum attenuation of 0.39 dB/km at 1310 nm, 0.24 dB/km at 1550 nm, and 0.29 dB/km at 1625 nm. It can withstand a minimum bend radius of 270 mm for both installation and operation, with a maximum tensile strength of 6000 N during installation and 2000 N during operation.
