The AVO200 series of eighth-brick isolated DC-DC converters comprises two single output models offering fully regulated voltages of 5.0 V or 12 V. These converters are rated at 200 watts continuous power; the 5.0 V model can deliver up to 40 amps, while the 12 V model can deliver up to 16.7 amps. They have a wide 2:1 input range of 36 to 75 Vdc and are primarily designed for use with standard 48 V telecommunications equipment supplies. Typical applications include wireless, optical or access networks, as well as server and computing infrastructures. AVO200 series converters offer up to 94.5% efficiency at full load and can operate over an ambient temperature range of -40 to 85˚C. Their open-frame design is optimized for forced air or conduction cooling and an aluminum baseplate option is available for enhanced thermal performance. There is a choice of surface-mount or through-hole terminations. The conversion technology employs 150 kHz fixed frequency switching to help minimize external EMI filtering requirements. Standard features include 80 to 110% output voltage trim, remote enable, input undervoltage lockout and differential remote sense. The converters have an enhanced pre-bias start-up capability and can accommodate high capacitance loads. They are comprehensively protected against overcurrent, short-circuit, overvoltage and overtemperature conditions.
