The MP1652A is a Pattern Generator from Anritsu. A pattern signal generator, or pattern generator, is a type of electronic test equipment engineers use to detect and generate waveforms from a device. An engineer can program a central pattern generator to make a particular digital signal during a test. There are several channels, or outputs, to choose from on a pattern generator.

The Anritsu MP1652A Pulse Pattern Generator is used in combination with the Anritsu MP1653A Error Detector.
The amplitude of the clock and data signals can be varied from 0.5 to 2 Vp-p while the offset can be adjusted to within ±2 V.
This allows measurement of the amplitude and offset margin.
