ZYGO's Optics business segment can custom manufacture precision CLEARCERAM® mirrors to your exact specifications. CLEARCERAM® mirrors are made from a glass-ceramic substrate which features ultra-low thermal expansion over a wide range of temperatures. The material is approximately 70% ceramic, giving it mechanical characteristics superior to regular glass. Its crystal grain structure prevents the spread of micro cracks that can result from machining processes, a property which permits ZYGO to manufacture CLEARCERAM® mirrors in a variety of geometries, with very high accuracy. It is well suited for applications where very low thermal expansion is critical.
