INSTAbond¬Æ 288 is a high-strength, high-viscosity anaerobic retaining compound designed for bonding cylindrical parts and threaded fasteners. It offers a fast set time, achieving fixture times of 7-10 minutes on unprimed steel at 25 ¬?C, and full cure within 12-24 hours. The product is suitable for applications requiring high shear strength, with a shear strength of 3,500 psi after 24 hours at 25 ¬?C. It operates effectively within a temperature range of -65 to 400 ¬?F and can fill gaps between 0.005,Äù and 0.012,Äù. This compound is not recommended for use in pure oxygen environments or with chlorine-containing materials and is unsuitable for plastic parts. Proper surface preparation is essential, requiring cleaning and degreasing with appropriate solvents. The product has a shelf life of 18 months when stored below 100 ¬?F and out of direct sunlight.
