INSTAbond¬Æ 146 is a high-strength, low-viscosity anaerobic threadlocking compound suitable for metal fasteners up to 1 inch in diameter. It features a fast cure time, achieving fixture in 5-10 minutes on unprimed steel at 25 ¬?C, and full cure in 18 hours. The product exhibits good chemical resistance and complies with MIL-S-46163 Type I Grade K and ASTM D 5363-03 AN0221 standards. The compound is red in color with a viscosity of 500 cPs at 25 ¬?C and a specific gravity of 1.1 gms/ml. It has a flash point greater than 93 ¬?C and can withstand a temperature range from -65 to 300 ¬?F. The breakaway torque after 24 hours at 25 ¬?C is 24.8 N-m, while the prevailing torque is 33.9 N-m. It is important to note that this product is not recommended for use in pure oxygen environments or with chlorine-containing materials and is unsuitable for plastic parts. For optimal performance, surfaces should be cleaned and degreased prior to application, and the product should be stored below 100 ¬?F and out of direct sunlight. The shelf life is 18 months when stored properly.
