INSTAbond¬Æ 122 is a low strength anaerobic threadlocking compound suitable for fastener diameters of ¬º,Äù (6 mm) and smaller. It features moderate chemical resistance and a quick fixture time, allowing parts to be separated using hand tools. The product complies with MIL-S-46163 Type II Grade M and ASTM D 5363-03 AN0311 standards. The uncured product is purple in color with a viscosity of 1,200 cPs and a specific gravity of 1.1 gms/ml. It has a flash point greater than 93 degrees Celsius. When cured, it exhibits a fixture time of 5-10 minutes on unprimed steel at 25 degrees Celsius, with full cure achieved in 18 hours. The breakaway torque after 24 hours is 8.5 N-m, and it can withstand temperatures ranging from -65 to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. This product is not recommended for use in pure oxygen environments or with chlorine-containing materials. It should not be applied to plastic parts. Proper storage conditions include keeping the product below 100 degrees Fahrenheit and out of direct sunlight, with a shelf life of 18 months when stored correctly.
