A small-molecule chemical inhibitor of Sonic hedgehog (Shh) signaling, that blocks hedgehog signaling through specific binding and blockade of Shh signaling factor. It is the first characterized hedgehog inhibitor whose molecular mechanism of action is through blockade of Shh protein and not a factor of the hedgehog signaling cascades.

Robotnikinin is an embryogenesis inhibitor such as in the growth in digits on limbs and organization of the brain. Morphogenetic activity, Shh signaling is centrally responsible in the ventral portion of the neural tube and the induction of floor plate cells and motor neurons.
Robotbikinin, an inhibitor of the Hedgehog signaling pathway, has been found and dubbed 'Robotnikinin', in honor of Dr. Ivo Robotnik.
