A glycopeptide antibiotic used in the diagnosis of the bleeding disorder, von Willebrand's disease (VWD). Ristocetin CoFactor Activity Assay is used to diagnose VWD while the Ristocetin Induced Platelet Agglutination (RIPA) Assay provides an overall assay of ristocetin induced agglutination of the patient's own platelets and plasma. This assay detects VWD cases with a hyperaggregation tendency. Purity data is for Ristocetin A.
