Paullones represent a novel class of small molecule cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) inhibitors. Kenpaullone is a potent inhibitor of CDK1/cyclin B (IC50=400 nM) also inhibits CDK2/cyclin A (IC50=680 nM). Weaker effect on other kinases. Also shown to inhibit GSK-3β (IC50=23 nM)
