The ZBA BT44-111S is a Class 1 surface mount Bluetooth module based upon the CSR Blue-core 4 chip. The BT44-111S has been designed to be embedded into a variety of end user equipment such as Medical devices, automotive applications etc. This class 1 module is especially desireable when the enclosure of the equipment is constructed of metal or ferrous material, thus requireing the use of an external antenna. The BT44-111S has a 50 ohm output and can drive essentially all antrenna designed for 2.4 GHz operation, the module and device firmware are fully compliant with the Bluetooth specification V2.0
The BT44-111S is a class 1 Bluetooth module that has a range of up to 100 meters (approximately 300 feet). Additionally, the firmware supports over the air data rates of up to 3Mbps as described in the EDR portion of the Bluetooth version 2.0 specification. Contained on the module is a 8MB Flash memory chip which contains the firmware and embedded microcode. The Flash memory can be upgraded via the UART. The module can support different Bluetooth profiles, although the most popular profile for data transfer is the Serial Port Profile (SPP).
The dimensions of the module is 27.5 x 14.5 x 2 mm. The module is a 36 pin leadless device with pin connections on both sides fo the module.
