The Centurion Surface Inspection Lighting System (701) is a second generation UNILUX product intended for heavy duty industry with the quality of its predecessor but with significant improvements that lower acquisition, maintenance and operating costs. The system is available with one or two light heads. This equipment is designed for permanent installation, including those areas that have a tendency for material wrecks or cobbles. The Centurion System, used with two light heads, easily covers wide strip widths, up to 2.6m (104 inches), at a distance from the strip of 2.4m (8ft). Typical applications are to illuminate hot and cold strip in motion so an inspector or operator can see surface defects. Rolling mills are the most common application for these lights. Other areas include pipe, rail and non-ferrous rolled products. Although the Centurion System operates from a remote control, it can also operate independently.
