The BQ24014 bqTINY(TM) is a linear charger designed for single-cell Li-Ion or Li-Polymer battery packs, featuring a compact 3-mm x 3-mm QFN package. It integrates a power FET and current sensor, allowing for efficient charge management with a maximum output current of 1 A. The device operates in three charging phases: conditioning, constant current, and constant voltage, with charge termination based on minimum current. It includes a safety timer for charge termination and automatically restarts charging if the battery voltage drops below a certain threshold. The BQ24014 offers reverse leakage protection to prevent battery drainage and has a voltage regulation accuracy of ¬±0.5%. It supports charge voltage options of 4.2 V and 4.36 V, making it suitable for various applications. Additional features include temperature sensing for battery safety, status outputs for charge and fault conditions, and the ability to work with both regulated and unregulated power supplies.
