The Model 2505 is an optical asynchronous mini bit-driver designed for RS-232 to fiber optic conversion over simplex or full-duplex links up to 6600 ft (2 km) at data rates of 0 to 115 Kbps. It features an ST connector for fiber optic interface, a metal enclosure measuring 1.75 x 3 x 0.625 in, and panel or DIN rail mounting options. It operates from 0°C to 50°C, requires an external 12 VDC power supply, and meets FCC Class A, Part 15 requirements for computing devices. The DTE or DCE mode is user-selectable, and pins 4 and 5 are internally tied, as are pins 6, 8, and 20.
