SL locknuts are self-clinching fasteners with a TRI-DENT® deformed thread design that provides a prevailing torque locking feature for mating hardware, offering 3-cycle locking performance. They are made from heat-treated carbon steel and are designed for use in sheets with a hardness of HRB 80 or less or HB 150 or less. The fastening strength is maintained up to 800°F (426°C), though temperatures above 300°F (149°C) will dehydrate the conversion coating. A dry film lubricant coating is applied to reduce thread damage and tightening torque during repeated installations and removals.
