The BSOA-3-5M3-12 is a blind threaded standoff from PennEngineering® designed for self-clinching applications. It is suitable for installation in metal sheets as thin as 0.025 inches (0.63 mm) and provides a flush outer surface after installation. This standoff is made from hardened stainless steel, making it ideal for use in environments where corrosion resistance is necessary. The product features a metric thread size of M3 and a length of 12 mm. It is recommended for use in applications requiring secure mounting, spacing, or stacking of panels and components. The BSOA series is particularly noted for its thicker wall design, which enhances bearing surface and reduces the risk of damage to the mating components.
These standoffs, which use the proven self-clinching design, install with a squeeze in properly sized round holes - and become permanently mounted in the thin sheet.
When blind-threaded types are used, outer sheet surfaces are not only flush, but closed as well.
