BSO series blind-threaded self-clinching standoffs install permanently into metal sheets through a closed-end design, providing flush, unobstructed outer surfaces. They are suitable for steel or aluminum sheets with a Rockwell B hardness of 80 or less. The BSO-6440 variant features a .040-inch minimum hole size, a .213-inch nominal thread length, and a thicker barrel wall for enhanced bearing surface and reduced risk of panel damage. The part installs with a minimum edge distance of .27 inch and is designed for mounting applications requiring threaded inserts from one side only.
These standoffs, which use the proven self-clinching design, install with a squeeze in properly sized round holes - and become permanently mounted in the thin sheet.
When blind-threaded types are used, outer sheet surfaces are not only flush, but closed as well.
