Overview The Model 1060 AC Powered, Asynchronous Short Range Modem is Patton's most sophisticated async twisted pair short haul. The Model 1060 adapts to a wide range of applications, while providing the resources to deal with less-than-optimum conditions. Supporting either hardware or software flow control, the Model 1060 operates both point-to-point and multipoint. The Model 1060 handles data rates to 115.2 kbps, and supports distances to 14 miles (22.5 Km) over two twisted pair. Because the line side is optically isolated and surge protected, you can install the Model 1060 in environments where EMR or ground loops would normally prohibit twisted pair data communications. Local and remote loopback tests and front panel LEDs aid in troubleshooting, while externally accessible DIP switches let you configure the Model 1060 without opening the case. Assignable control signals and DCE/DTE switchability complete the picture.
