The U100-A3K-170N ULTIMA® 1.0 in. diameter mirror mount is assembled with the new 170-TPI adjustment screws, which provide excellent sensitivity and stability. Compared to the standard 100-TPI mirror mount, the U100-A3K-170N provides 43% better sensitivity: 2.2 vs. 3.8 arc sec. The benefit of the 170-TPI adjuster was boosted by the results of timed alignment testing where the U100-A3K-170N could be consistently aligned to a band of less than +/- 3 µrad in about half the time as the same mount with 100-TPI threads. The U100-A3K-170N retains all of the outstanding features of the ULTIMA family including a patented clear quadrant design, actuators that can be quickly changed to accommodate a broad selection of other adjustment screws, micrometers, and motorized actuators, and hard carbide pads to enable smooth, repeatable ±7° of tip/tilt adjustment. A large array of optical mounting accessories is available for these mounts making ULTIMA a basic building block for many optical systems. Convenient clearance mounting holes on each of two sides are compatible with either 8-32 or M4 screws providing quicker, more precise, and more secure mounting. ULTIMA mounts can be mounted to posts for adjustable height or pedestal posts for a stable fixed height. The Clear Edge Advantage With the Clear Edge design, beams can be reflected from one mount to another at smaller incident angles (Φ) taking less space between the mounts (d). Clear Edge Mounts are also ideal for compensating for pulse dispersion effects through multiple reflections on Chirped Mirrors. Locking Adjustment Screws ULTIMA Clear Edge Performance Mirror Mounts feature a Flexure Lock built with an AJS bushing in select models. Flexure Locks exert a tangential force on the screw to prevent rotation and prevent unintended adjustment. Replaceable Actuators The ULTIMA's industry-standard clamp design allows many different types of actuators to be used to adjust the mirror position to meet the requirements for any application. Actuators can be replaced with ease by simply loosening two screws to allow the actuator to gently slide into and out of the mount. ULTIMA mounts are compatible not only with standard knob and hex-key adjustment screws, but also with micrometers and motorized actuators. The additional stiffness lowers deflection during adjustment, allowing fast and easy alignment.
