The ID-0.5 Iris Diaphragm uses 10 leaves to provide a continuously variable 1 to 11 mm aperture for applications including setting the numerical aperture of a lens, controlling or measuring the intensity of a diffuse beam, or approximating beam diameters. It may also be used as a baffle to reduce spurious reflections and scattered light. Designed for smooth adjustment and the best possible aperture shape, each iris consists of an array of curved, spring-steel leaves whose orientation is determined by the relative position of two rings. A pin handle on the inner ring lets you adjust the aperture without risk of obstructing the beam path. The miniature ID-0.5 Iris Mounts in the Optic Holders for attachment to SP and MSP Posts or Pedestals. This product is also available in 6-piece saving pack .
Continuously Adjustable Opening With Ideal Shape
For smooth adjustment and an optimal shape for the aperture opening, each iris consists of an array of curved, overlapping, spring-steel leaves that intersect into the circular opening. Up to 18 leaves adjust continuously between two supporting rings with the adjustment of a pin handle attached to the inner ring.
