Newport MKS Polarization Maintaining Fiber, Bow-Tie, 633-780 nm, 0.14-0.18 NA. F-SPV

Description
The F-SPV Polarization Maintaining Fiber uses Fibercore's Bow-Tie polarization maintaining (PM) fiber technology. This highly birefringent (HiBi) fiber, is optimized for operation between 633 - 780 nm and has a beat-length of less than 2 mm. The beat-length, the length over which the fiber polarization rotates through 360°, is one of the fundamental performance measures: the shorter the beat-length, the better the polarization-preserv ing properties of the fiber. This Polarization Maintaining fiber has a 125 μm cladding, 245 μm coating, a 3.2 μm Mode Field Diameter, and a 0.14 to 0.18 NA. Standard pricing is per meter. This bare fiber does not include a protective fiber jacket. Standard pricing is per meter. The following volume discount schedule is applied when ordering continuous lengths of optical fiber: 10 - 49 m: 15%, 50 - 99 m: 22%, 100 - 499 m: 25%, and ≥ 500 m: 28%. Bow-Tie Polarization Maintaining Fiber The core is flanked by areas of high expansion, boron-doped glass, which shrink back more than the surrounding silica. Tension caused induces birefringence (creating two different indices of refraction: a higher index parallel and a lower index perpendicular to the applied stress). Cross section diagram of the Bow-Tie Polarization Maintaining Fiber. High Birefringence "Bow-Tie" cladding preserves polarization with stress-induced intrinsic birefringence. The fast axis is oriented horizontally. “Bow-Tie” cladding preserves polarization with stress-induced intrinsic birefringence. The fast axis is oriented horizontally. Standard and Custom Patch Cables Standard patch cables are available in several standard lengths with FC/UPC or FC/APC connectors.
