The gain spectrum of F-EDF-2 (manufacturer P/N I-5 (980/125)) has been designed to generate a substantially flattened wavelength response that closely matches that of other leading fiber types. This intrinsic flatness and compatibility both simplifies the design of gain flattening filters (GFFs) and facilitates multi-sourcing by enabling the re-use of existing component stocks. Its core composition also promotes rapid mode-expansion during fusion-splicing, optimizing power output and noise figure and simplifying gain-module manufacture. This product offers an identical gain spectrum every time, with maximum batch-batch absorption variability just 0.00025 dB/m. This model replaces the legacy model F-EDF-T3. This bare fiber does not include a protective fiber jacket. Standard pricing is per meter. The following volume discount schedule is applied when ordering continuous lengths of optical fiber: 10 - 49 m: 15%, 50 - 99 m: 22%, 100 - 499 m: 25%, and ≥ 500 m: 28%.
