The CAW10 is a 5.0 mm in diameter and 1.0 mm thick Calcium Fluoride window. Calcium fluoride has a wide spectral range with high transmission (above 90%) between 0.25 μm and 7 μm, making it an excellent choice for deep UV to IR applications. CaF2 is also an ideal choice for excimer laser optics due to its low absorption and high damage threshold. For selected applications CaF2 can also be used without an anti-reflective coating as it has a low index of refraction leading to a low refracted light from the second surface.
