The 77636 Liquid Light Guide is more efficient and less expensive than a Fused Silica Fiber Bundle and you don’t have to worry about fiber breakage. This 39.4 inch length VIS-NIR version has a 420 to 2000 nm range and a 0.52 numerical aperture. It consists of a plastic tube covered by a protective aluminum spiral and covered by a PVC jacket. The inner tube is filled with a proprietary, transparent, anaerobic, non-toxic fluid. The 0.2 inch (5.1 mm) core is sealed at both ends with polished fused silica or glass windows and protected by an interlocking stainless steel sheathing. It has a 2.4 inch bend radius. This light guide is robust and long-lived in normal use and has 11 mm ferrules on the ends so they fit in any of our Fiber Holders. High ultraviolet to near-infrared throughput Liquid light guides provide much greater transmittance than Fused Silica Fiber Bundles, do not have the risk of fiber breakage, and are less expensive.
