The 76841 Liquid Light Guide is more efficient and less expensive than a Fused Silica Fiber Bundle and you don’t have to worry about fiber breakage. This 79 inch length DUV version has a 220 to 600 nm range and a 0.43 numerical aperture. It consists of a plastic tube covered by a protective aluminum spiral and covered by a PVC jacket. The inner tube is filled with a proprietary, transparent, anaerobic, non-toxic fluid. The 0.12 inch (3 mm) core is sealed at both ends with polished fused silica or glass windows and protected by an interlocking stainless steel sheathing. It has a 1.6 inch bend radius. This light guide is robust and long-lived in normal use and has 11 mm ferrules on the ends so they fit in any of our Fiber Holders. Deep UV Light Guides Available Deep UV (DUV) liquid light guides capable of transmitting wavelengths down to 220 nm are available. These are helpful for transmitting the high UV intensity of an Arc Lamp or Deuterium Lamp. For small point sources 1 mm or less in size, a Solarization Resistant Fiber is recommended.
