Miles Scientific (Analtech) Extraction Columns - Type Silica, 4mL (150/case) 11-53

Description
APPLICATION Type Silica extraction columns are intended for the use in the extraction of analytes from aqueous samples, i.e. environmental sample, urine, serum and process stream using the Dupont Prep¢ 1 Automated Sample Processor, the XTRX¢ 4 Sample Processor, or a vacuum box. SUMMARY The concept of solid phase extraction has been applied to a broad range of materials including drugs of abuse, drug metabolites and steroids, and environmental pollutants. Extraction columns are supplied with a cap, waste cup, and sample recovery cup. The columns contain water and a nominal 120mg of a polymeric strong anion exchange resin retained by a porous filter. The column reservoir will hold approx. 4ml of sample. The waste cup has a capacity of approx. 6ml and is used to collect liquid (normally waste) passed through the column when the rotor is spinning in a clockwise direction. The sample recovery cup has a capacity of 4ml and is used to collect the sample when rotor is rotating in a counterclockwise direction. The sample components are released from the resin by the use of an acidic eluting solvent and collected in the sample recovery cup.
