SILTEX® 1800 Silica Tape is a woven industrial textile made from 96% amorphous silica yarn, designed for protection against high heat and abrasion in industrial environments. It operates continuously up to 1800°F (982°C) with a short-term limit of 2300°F (1260°C). The tape is available in widths from 1″ to 6″ and thicknesses from 0.015″ to 0.100″, with a tolerance of ±10%. It exhibits high thermal stability, chemical resistance, and mechanical strength, and is offered in white or tan colors.
Comprised of 96% amorphous silica fibers, SILTEX® Silica Textiles are excellent for use as high-temperature resistant insulation where high strength and flexibility are required. Available as rope, tape or sleeving, our silica textiles are unaffected by most chemicals, except strong alkalis, hydrofluouric acid or sodium.
