Mid-Mountain Materials, Inc. Heat Resistant Ceramic Fiber Textiles HYTEX® 2200

Description
Mid-Mountain manufactures textiles designed for use as thermal seals and barriers for high temperature applications in moderate to severe environments. In 1976, we began manufacturing Channel Tapes and Tadpole Tapes for use as seals in gas fireplaces and pellet stoves. Since then, we have engineered a wide variety of textiles used as thermal insulation seals and barriers across numerous industries. Made with a wide variety of substrates, HYTEX® High-Temperature Resistant Textiles have a continuous operating temperature from 400°F • 204°C to 5000°F • 2760°C (no oxygen present). Many standard products are available in configurations of knit or woven fabric, knit or woven tape, knit or braided rope (both round and square), and knit or braided sleeving. We also have the capability to laminate with foil or pressure-sensitive adhesive, or apply a specialty coating for applications that require increased heat, abrasion or chemical resistance.

HYTEX™ 2200 ceramic fiber textiles are high-temperature resistant materials designed for thermal barriers and electrical insulation, with a continuous operating temperature of 2012°F (1100°C) and a short-term limit of 2600°F (1426°C). Available as woven cloth, tape, and braided sleeving, they are manufactured from alumina-based ceramic fiber yarn without a carrier, retaining flexibility and molten metal resistance at elevated temperatures. The textiles have low thermal conductivity, high electrical resistivity, and passed FAA 2000°F (1095°C) 15-minute flame penetration tests. Cloth thickness ranges from 0.014″ to 0.062″, tape is 0.018″ thick in widths of 1″, 1.5″, and 2″, and sleeving has diameters from 1/16″ to 2.5″ with thicknesses of 0.031″ to 0.125″. Tolerance is ±10%. The material is white and composed of 62% alumina.
