ARMATEX™ SS 40 is a silicone-coated silica fabric designed for high-temperature protection of equipment and personnel, offering excellent abrasion resistance and thermal insulation. It has a nominal thickness of 0.058 inches (1.47 mm) and a width of 36 inches (0.914 meters). The base fabric withstands temperatures up to 1800°F (982°C), while the silicone coating is rated to 450°F (232°C). The material has a tensile strength of 350 lbs/in (3065 N/5cm) and a nominal weight of 40 oz/sq yd (1356 g/m²). Standard roll size is 50 yards (45.72 meters). The fabric meets MIL-I-24244 certification standards.
