CONFIRM anti-CD20 (L26) specifically binds to antigens located in the plasma membrane and cytoplasmic regions of normal B lymphocytes and may also be expressed in Reed-Sternberg cells. This phosphoprotein is found on the surface of normal and malignant B cells and is thought to act as a receptor during B cell activation and differentiation. Plasma cells are negative for CD20. CONFIRM anti-CD20 (L26) can be used to detect B cells from peripheral blood, lymph node, spleen, tonsil and bone marrow. It is also used in the classification of a majority of B cell malignancies, including many acute leukemias and chronic lymphocytic leukemias.
