Jergens, Inc. Stainless Steel Spring Plungers 27012

Description
Jergens Spring Plungers, unlike conventional spring plungers, are machined in one piece. The spring is assembled from the top so that there is no need for a set screw. Our Spring Plungers do not have a set screw that can loosen or separate from the plunger body. The advantage is no lost springs and no need for “easy-out” tools. When adjusting Solid Drive, you can be sure the plunger body is turning and not a set screw. Features & Benefits: Single-unit construction for better reliability No set screw to separate from the plunger body No need for “easy-out” tools Close tolerance between tip and body Conforms to TCMA dimensional standards Patch-style locking element Hex drive in the rear for spring plunger insertion Special materials and sizes available upon requests Material Specifications: Body Material: 303 Stainless Steel Tip Material: 303 Stainless Steel Spring: 17-7 PH Stainless Steel Thread: 2A-UNC Plunger tips are color-coded to indicate light or heavy force: Silver: Steel Tip, Light Force Black = Steel Tip, Heavy Force Note(s): For easy insertion of Spring Plungers with locking elements, the tapped hole should be countersunk at least 0.030-0.045" (0.76mm-1.14mm) larger than the major diameter of the plunger.

Jergens Stainless Steel Spring Plunger, part number 27012, features a single-unit construction that enhances reliability by eliminating the need for a set screw, which can loosen or separate from the plunger body. This design prevents lost springs and the need for "easy-out" tools during adjustments. The plunger is made from 303 stainless steel, ensuring durability and corrosion resistance. It conforms to TCMA dimensional standards and includes a patch-style locking element for secure engagement. The hex drive at the rear facilitates easy insertion into tapped holes, which should be countersunk slightly larger than the plunger's major diameter for optimal performance. The plunger is color-coded to indicate force levels, with silver indicating light force and black indicating heavy force.
