The CHL8325A-50CRT is a dual-loop digital multi-phase buck controller capable of driving up to five phases. It is compliant with Intel® VR12 and AMD® SVI standards, featuring a Vtt tracking function for DDR memory. The controller utilizes non-volatile memory (NVM) for configuration, which helps reduce pin count and package size. Key features include IR Efficiency Shaping Technology for enhanced efficiency across various load ranges, and IR Dynamic Phase Control that adjusts the number of active phases based on load current. The device supports programmable 1-phase or 2-phase operation for light loads and includes active diode emulation for very light loads. It operates with a switching frequency range of 200 kHz to 1.2 MHz per phase. The CHL8325A-50CRT also incorporates an I2C/PMBus interface for communication with multiple VR loops, allowing for telemetry of temperature, voltage, current, and power. It includes comprehensive fault protection features such as over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature protection. The product is packaged in a 6x6 mm QFN format and is suitable for applications in Intel® VR12 and AMD® SVI based systems, as well as overclocked and gaming platforms.
