ESDU 76023 gives charts that relate the compressive stress at buckling to the associated half-wavelength of the buckle; they cover the practical range of flange and lip proportions for unlipped channel sections and lipped channel sections with the lip turned either inwards or outwards. The calculations take account of translation, rotation and distortion of the strut cross-section. Curves of material plasticity correction factors are included.
