IHS ESDU The estimation of r.m.s. stress in stiffened skin panels subjected to random acoustic loading. 72005

Description
ESDU 72005 provides a method of estimating the stress in thin flat, or lightly-curved, rectangular stiffened panels under high intensity acoustic loading. These data are particularly applicable to aircraft structural panels near, or in the wake of, a jet engine. A range of sound pressure levels from 100 to 160 dB is considered and comparisons made with measured data. The method of analysis assumes individual plates within the stiffened panel vibrate independently in their fundamental fixed-edge mode. The r.m.s. stresses given are the nominal rivet line values. A program implementing the calculation procedure is provided as ESDUpac A7205.
