Description
The results of approximately 1100 fatigue tests on plain and notched specimens (with notch stress concentration factors in the range of 1 to 3.2) are presented as a basis for endurance curves for various types of high strength steel: 1% Cr-Mo, 3% Cr-Mo, 1% Ni-Cr-Mo, 2% Ni-Cr-Mo, martensitic stainless, precipitation hardening martensitic stainless, austenitic stainless and maraging steels. The low alloy steels are also correlated to show the general effect of the material tensile strength on the endurance curves.
