ESDU 71003 gives information on the approximate viscosity ranges covered by petroleum products including lubricants, fuels and liquefied gases and bitumens. British Standards designations for fuels and lubricants are included where applicable. Reference is made to the appropriate ASTM and Institute of Petroleum Standards. Typical variations with temperature are shown and a method of estimating the viscosity of a blend of two or more products is given. Information on approximate density ranges is also included. The data are indexed in a Glossary which briefly describes the products and also a number of related terms in common use in the petroleum industry.
