IHS ESDU Initial buckling of flat isosceles triangular plates under compression reacted by compression and/or shear 09013

Description
ESDU 09013 provides a method of calculating the initial buckling stress of a flat isosceles triangular plate of uniform thickness subjected to uniform compression along the base reacted by compression along the two equal edges of the plate or uniform compression along the base reacted by shear along the two equal edges of the plate. The Item also provides a method of calculating the critical total buckling stress of a flat isosceles triangular plate subjected to a uniform compression along the base reacted by a combination of compression and shear along the two equal edges. The data given in the Item are for Poisson's ratio of 0.3. However, results for materials with other Poisson's ratios can be obtained by using the appropriate formula given in the Item. The data are provided graphically in the form of four figures and cover both simply-supported and clamped boundary conditions. A comprehensive worked example illustrates the use of the data in the Item.
