AMICO Riveted Bar Grating

Description
Riveted Grating is the first choice when greater rolling loads are required. Reticulated bars are riveted to bearing bars permitting a higher resistance to buckling caused by vehicular rolling traffic. Compared to welded bar or swage-locked grating, riveted has greater load carrying capacity for the same span and depth of grating. AMICO can match your existing riveted grating when replacing or expanding the installation. Heavy duty bar sizes and or widths can be special ordered. Carbon Steel Riveted AMICO riveted grating utilizes rivets which are individually cold-pressed using hydraulically and mechanically applied pressure to join the bearing and reticulated bars into position. This riveting process creates grating that eliminates the stresses that cause warp and joint failures. Aluminum Riveted Grating Aluminum and steel riveted are made using the same process. Though aluminum riveted grating is used only in pedestrian areas such as on bridges, sidewalks and tree grates. Riveted grating is an exceptional choice where rolling stock, wheeled equipment and especially when casters are used. Aluminum riveted is not recommended for vehicular loads. Riv-Dexteel® Bridge Deck Riveted Grating Compared to other surfaces, Riv-Dexteel® is relatively lightweight and frequently permits bridge widening without an appreciable increase in bridge weight. It often allows resurfacing to handle heavier loads without expensive substructure work. It is ideal where flooding, snow build up or icing is a potential problem since its openness permits passage of snow and water that a solid surface does not allow. In addition to its common applications as bridge decking and curb inlet grates, it has wide applications in industrial flooring areas, plant loading areas, driveways across culverts and other heavy traffic areas.
