Perforated carbon sheet steel can be coated to make it corrosion resistant. Coatings applied after the perforating process, such as paint and powder, will completely protect the perforated metal, but coatings applied before perforating (e.g. galvanized and galvanealed) will leave the inside of the holes exposed.
