Exceed,Ñ¢ 3518PA Wire & Cable is a metallocene polyethylene performance polymer resin specifically designed for applications in wire and cable manufacturing. This ethylene 1-hexene copolymer enhances mechanical properties such as tensile strength, elongation, tear resistance, and crack resistance, making it suitable for various working conditions. It is particularly effective as a blend partner in halogen-free flame retardant compounds and cable jacketing. The product is available in pellet form and is suitable for high, medium, and low voltage jacketing, as well as communication cables. Key properties include a density of 0.918 g/cm¬=, a melt index of 3.5 g/10 min, and a peak melting temperature of 237¬8F (114¬8C). The tensile strength at break is reported at 4300 psi (30 MPa) with an elongation at break of 700%. Additionally, it exhibits excellent electrical properties, including a volume resistivity of 1.4E+15 ohms¬?m. Engineers considering this product should note that sufficient carbon black or UV stabilizer may be required to meet specific cable jacketing specifications.
